Mothers Day Bikers Event 2010
Thousands of bikers from throughout the country are planning a spectacular mass ride through Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire on Mothers Day to honour soldiers who have lost their lives in Afghanistan. More than 1,000 riders are expected to ride through the Wiltshire town on Sunday March 14 and then gather on the runway at RAF Lyneham. They will there hand over funds raised for the Afghan Heroes charity set up last September by a group of mothers who lost their sons in Afghanistan. The bikers will descend on Wiltshire from throughout the UK and gather at the Leigh Delamere services on the M4 (Junction 17 - eastbound) before the mass ride through Wootton Bassett to RAF Lyneham at 12 noon where the fallen were repatriated into the UK. Each rider will pay £5 (on the day) and receive a special commemorative Afghan Heroes wristband, which will be their entry pass to the RAF base. All proceeds raised from the ride will go to the Afghan Heroes charity, which helps our service personnel in theatre, families of the fallen and our returning troops. Calling all the bikers of Devon, Cornwall and surrounding areas.  This event is being organised by bikers in the Plymouth area to raise funds for 'Help the Heroes'....Come and join together for an escorted ride through Devon and Cornwall to help raise funds for our fallen and injured Heroes of the Armed Forces.

Bikes of all shapes and sizes, 2 wheel and 3 are welcome to join us
This will be an escorted ride leaving from Fergusons Transport on Eagle Road, Plympton at 11am to take in the sights and enjoy the ride up through Callington, down the Gull Valley to Tavistock, across the Moors arriving at GT Motorcycles in Plymouth. Marshalls will be guiding the way along with a GT Motorcycles service vehicle in the event of any problems.
Mark Shirley, Geoff Marley and Owen Andrews all take part in most of the organised ride outs in this area. Between them they have decided that this year they would organise an additional ride in aid of 'Help For Heroes', a charity close to our heart! To help raise funds, local businesses and local people will be donating prizes for a free raffle on the day along with a collection at the start point and along the route. There will also be Help For Heroes Merchandise available for purchase at the start and finish point.
By getting involved in Help for Heroes you’re helping to change the world. All the money raised will be spent by Help for Heroes to transform the lives of wounded service personnel.
No pre booking fee, all donations on the day.
Free raffle open to all attendees to be drawn at end of run at GT’s.
Bikers and pillion riders......please show your support and lets make this a run for all to be proud of.... The service men and women give their lives.... lets give something back!!

Custom Show Saturday The show will be held at Castle Cary Rugby Club, the same venue as the last couple of years. A gentle reminder that this is a one day event with camping available overnight on the Saturday night for those wishing to buy a hangover! The headlining band will be "On The Rocks" who will be playing the evening set in the clubhouse. "Mid Life Crisis" will be playing late afternoon-early evening, hopefully outside on the trailer stage, weather permitting! The first band of the day will be "No Mean Feat", and for those of you that need to eat on a regular basis, the food van has now been booked to supply food for all day saturday, and also sunday morning.

Hi my name is Liam Dwyer

Please give me two minutes of your time!
I was a keen motor bike rider for 19 years. I am now looking for help through the power of the motor bike.  On Sunday 25th July 2010 I am organising a motor bike ride on the M25 clock wise. The M25 is 117 miles in total. By doing this ride I hope to gain publicity for the MND Association. My intention is to start at 13.00hrs having motor bikes joining at 5 junctions all this information will be on the website below. The only thing that I ask is for bikers to wear a tabard with the Motor Neurone Disease Association logo on it so we can create awareness for this deadly disease which I have myself. For people who don’t know anything about this disease it’s a neurological condition which attacks all your bodily functions. A staggering five people in the UK alone die a Day from this disease. I was diagnosed in September 2005 and at that time I was given just 18 months to live. I call myself lucky because the form I have is giving me longer but I still don’t know how long I have. This is the furthest in advance I have organised anything. As long as I can get it off the ground I will have achieved what I set out to do.
This year I built a disabled website to help others with useful information which I have learnt over the past four years.
